Welcome to the Buttercross Ladies' Probus Website

We are an active, friendly group who meet once a month to enjoy the company of like-minded fellow women who are about to retire, are semi-retired or fully retired.

We meet at The Old Swan in Minster Lovell on the second Wednesday of every month and have a variety of speakers at each meeting followed by lunch.  Throughout the year we offer a range of social events including outings to the theatre, cinema, places of interest and exhibitions.

Come along and join us for a taster meeting where you will receive a warm welcome and will be able to enjoy good company.

Regards

Christine Adams, President

The Buttercross Ladies' Probus Club was formed in 2006. The very first meeting was on 21st June 2006 so 21st June 2026 will be our 20th Anniversary. It is a social club for retired and semi-retired professional and business ladies, from around Witney and wider Oxfordshire.

We also have close links with other local Probus Clubs, including Glyme Valley Ladies Club in Woodstock and two men's clubs in Witney. (Web site addresses for them can be found on our "Links" page).

People often wonder what Probus stands for: it is an acronym for PRO(fessional) and BUS(iness). To find out more please visit the links on this page. We hope you will want to join our club and look forward to hearing from you.
